Yesterday during the province’s COVID-19 update, Premier Scott Moe said Saskatchewan will be participating in the government of Canada’s COVID Alert App, and it should be available for people in the province to use in the coming weeks.
The app, which the government of Canada website says lets people know of possible COVID-19 exposures before any symptoms appear, uses Bluetooth communication to exchange random codes with nearby phones. Every day, the app checks the list of codes from people who report they’ve tested positive. If an app user has been in contact with one of those people in the past 14 days, they’ll get a notification. |
