🚸PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE🚸

SLOW DOWN WHILE DRIVING

To All Drivers Traveling Through Muenster, SK:

As members of a close-knit and growing village, we take pride in the peace, safety, and health of our community. However, an urgent concern has been raised: vehicles speeding through Muenster are putting both people and our environment at risk.

Why It Matters:

  • Pedestrian Safety Is At Risk
Families walk, children bike, and seniors cross our streets every day. Excessive speed dramatically increases the risk of serious injury in the event of an accident. Even if there is no crosswalk, please stop for pedestrians to cross the road. Roads like Range Road are becoming dangerous for pedestrians walking and driving due to reckless driving.
Just a few seconds saved could cost someone their life.
  • Dust Is Affecting Our Quality of Life
Fast-moving vehicles kick up dust on our gravel roads, impacting visibility, damaging nearby property, and affecting air quality for residents—especially children and those with respiratory conditions. This applies not only to the streets in Muenster but also the Wolverine Creek Road coming into Muenster on the East side of the community.
  • We All Share Responsibility
Whether you’re a resident, visitor, delivery driver, or commuter—how you drive through Muenster matters. Respecting the speed limit shows care for our community.

What We’re Asking:

Slow down to the posted speed limits (or lower if conditions require).
Be alert at crosswalks, pedestrians, and near playgrounds.
Avoid sudden acceleration.

Together, we can keep Muenster safe, clean, and welcoming. Thank you for doing your part.

Village of Muenster Council
Let’s protect what makes our village special—starting with each other.

Intent to Adopt an OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN and ZONING BYLAW

Notice:
The Council of the Village of Muenster hereby gives notice
of its intention to adopt an Official Community Plan #4/2025 and Zoning Bylaw #5/2025
pursuant to The Planning and Development Act, 2007.

Reason:
To update, revise and replace previous guidelines outlined in the #6/1986 Official Community Plan (OCP) and #7/1986 Zoning Bylaw (ZB).
The Official Community Plan (OCP) will help direct and manage growth and development in the Village of Muenster for 15-20 years. This document defines, directs, evaluates, and guides the Council in making development and land-use decisions. The objectives and policies address the future requirements and directions for growth of residential, commercial, industrial, recreational, and municipal land-uses.
The Zoning Bylaw is a regulatory document that implements the policies contained in the OCP. This document will divide the Village of Muenster into seven zoning districts based on existing and intended future land-uses. The Zoning Bylaw contains regulations and standards including the size and location of lots and buildings, off-street parking, vehicle storage, fencing and landscaping. Each district will contain regulations for the uses within that district, along with general regulations that apply to development in all districts.

Affected Land:
The proposed OCP and Zoning Bylaw encompass all properties within the municipality of the Village of Muenster.

Public Inspection:
The document and maps of the OCP and ZB may be viewed at the Village of Muenster office located at #305 Railway Street. These documents may be examined by any person without payment of any fee between the hours of 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Tuesday through Thursday, excluding holidays, up to and including June 18th, 2025.
OCP and ZB Planning documents will be posted on the Village of Muenster Website found at: www.villageofmuenster.ca. Paper copies of the documents may be obtained from the Administrator at a cost of $25.00. Any questions about these documents can be directed to the Village Office.

Public Hearing:
The Council will hear all submissions respecting the proposed OCP and Zoning Bylaw on:
June 18th, 2025 at 6:00 pm in Council Chambers at #305 Railway Street, Muenster. Council will hear all persons who are present at the meeting and wish to speak on this matter. They will also consider written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned before the hearing.
