SGI Traffic Safety grant program has assisted the Village of Muenster with the purchase of 3 new digital speed signs. Motorists will see two new signs flashing at them if they exceed the 100km/hr speed limit along Hwy 5 as they pass by Muenster. The intent of the traffic speed signs is to draw attention to drivers’ speed within areas of high traffic and near access points adjacent to Muenster. The third sign has been located on College Avenue within Village limits for approximately 8 months. Data can be collected such as time and date of excessive speeds. Please slow down if you see these signs flashing at you as it is an indication you are above speed limits.

Notice: Starting Monday August 29th, 2022 the Village of Muenster will have contractors scoping and flushing lines within our municipal sewer system at various locations in the Village. This is another step in addressing infrastructure that your council has considered as part of a prudent process to ensure underground infrastructure does not need replacing prior to investing larger budgets into road surface work. A Federation of Canadian Municipalities Asset grant will assist with paying for this service.

Muenster Cooperative Childcare Center AGM at 7pm tonight August 22nd at the Muenster Hall. Open to public. Draft sketches of potential new facility will be presented. All businesses, interested parties, and community members are invited, even if you do not have children! This part of our feedback and information gathering stage so all input is valuable. Please join us and check out what the initial concept design includes.

Roadwork is scheduled on the 300 and 400 blocks of Scott Street in Muenster August 4th after 10 am. Road will be closed from approximately 10 am -4pm to allow public works to apply recycled shingles as a surfacing agent to the street.

CHANGE TO MUENSTER GARBAGE PICKUP NEXT WEEK

Rangeline Roadwork Wednesday July 20th. The Village of Muenster Public Works department will be laying down recycled asphalt shingles on Rangleline tomorrow July 20th. Please attempt to refrain from using Rangline after 10 o’clock am while equipment is working in the area. Thankyou. The RAS product will decrease dust, noise and assist with surface quality of the road.

Please note the regular meeting of Council scheduled for Tuesday July 19th has to be postponed until Tuesday July 26th at 6:30 pm. Meetings are open to the public and held at the Village Office.
