Due to a power outage in Regina Tuesday afternoon, the Government of Saskatchewan has postponed the presentation of Saskatchewan’s Vaccine Delivery Plan until tomorrow morning (Wednesday, December 9, 2020) at 10 a.m. Premier Scott Moe and Health Minister Paul Merriman will provide opening remarks, followed by a technical briefing by CMHO Dr. Saqib Shahab and Saskatchewan Health Authority CEO Scott Livingstone. The COVID Alert app tool is one of the many available to residents to stay informed on the risk of COVID-19 in our communities and its strength is based on usage. The more people ho utilize the app, the more valuable it is for all participating residents.
Saskatchewan’s chief medical health officer has endorsed the Alert app and encourages all residents to download it.

COVID-19 Update: Six Deaths, 183 New Cases, 144 in Hospital, 279 Recoveries
Six residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Five of these individuals were in their 80s, from the North West (1), Regina (3) and South East (1) zones. One individual in their 30s was from the North Central zone. This marks the largest one day increase in the number of COVID-19 deaths in Saskatchewan since the pandemic began.
There are 183 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on December 8, 2020, bringing the provincial total to date to 10,597 cases (4,663 are considered active). The seven-day average of daily new cases is 264 (21.8 new cases per 100,000 population).
Community Rink Affordability Grant Program Returns
Fulfilling the platform promise to communities around the province, the Government of Saskatchewan announced that registration for the Community Rink Affordability Grant program (CRAG) will officially open on Monday, December 14, 2020, to provide funding for community-owned indoor skating and curling rinks.
Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network Expanded
Saskatchewan’s Crime Watch Advisory Network has been expanded to include municipal police services and conservation officers. Members of the public can sign up for crime watch advisories by visiting www.saskcrimewatch.ca.

Increased COVID-19 in Meadow Lake: visitor limitations in place
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is alerting the public of an increase in COVID-19 cases in the Meadow Lake area and is urging Saskatchewan residents to follow public health measures and personal safety precautions to prevent the spread of the virus, including maintaining a physical distance of two metres from others and masking when that’s not possible, frequent hand hygiene and self-isolating if you develop any symptoms of COVID-19.
In order to keep everyone in SHA facilities and care homes safe during this time, family presence/visitation is being limited in to compassionate reasons only in the Meadow Lake Hospital effective Tuesday, December 8 at 8 a.m. The measure will be reassessed in four weeks.
