Walkers braved the chill night air and motorists lined the streets for Muenster’s second annual twinkle tour. The first edition met with so many positive comments last year that organizers pitched in again to make it happen.
The Village of Muenster prepared tour maps that served as voting ballots for the people’s favourite light displays. This year, Muenster residents and businesses upped their game. Homes were decked out, fences had generous displays of lights, and the plentiful trees were decked out. One brave citizen made the trek up his old growth elms and decked them to the tops with brilliant white lights. An outdoor skating rink was one gathering point that residents enjoyed. A fire pit was also on hand to help fend off the evening chill.
Trees lining Muenster’s Railway Avenue were adorned thanks to a $3,000 dollar donation from the Muenster Elks. Once again this year, Santa got a lift from the Humboldt Fire Department and was decked out in safety gear waving to passersby from their response unit.
The Muenster Hotel once again served as home base making hot chocolate and snacks available and welcoming voters to drop off their ballots.
When out for a drive to the Festival of Lights at the Humboldt Camp Ground, take a short drive east to enjoy another feast for the senses and take the Muenster Twinkle Tour this holiday season.
