Jenay Varga – a Volleyball Force!


Hometown pride is being sent out to Ms. Jenay Varga!! Jenay is a leader on the Lakeland Rustlers Women’s Volleyball team. Send your congratulations to Jenay as she is part of the Back to Back THREE time National Champions for CCAA Womens Volleyball. Jenay’s team the Lakeland Rustlers overtook the Humber College representative team 3 games to 1. Another note is that Humber College has 30,000 students while the Lakeland College has 900 students. What an accomplishment Ms. Varga! Your dedication and hard work does not go unnoticed!

Water Pressure Down Feb 22, 2025

There has been a water line break/leak this morning Saturday Feb 22, 2024. You will notice a drop in your water pressure for the next day or two until our crews can address the break. With the changes in temperature and frost potentially moving in the ground it is wise to keep an eye on your basement water lines for any potential freeze ups or pipe movements that can break lines.

Wildlife In Town

With the extreme cold and deep snow, there have been several sightings of wildlife in town, including these two. Moose, deer, coyotes and other wildlife may move closer in search of food and shelter.

A Few Safety Tips:

  • Stay alert, maintain a safe distance
  • Be cautious while driving
  • Do not feed wildlife
  • Keep pets leashed, avoid confrontation
  • Secure garbage and food sources
  • Report concerning behavior, aggression or distress to your local conservation officer – 1-800-667-7561
